Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

1. Acceptance

By using CardIntro you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. The Service

CardIntro lets you create a digital business card, generate QR codes for sharing, scan physical business cards (front and back), store scanned contacts, create smart labels (QR codes for boxes and containers with editable hosted contents), create dynamic QRs (printed codes whose destination link you can change), view scan analytics, write your card link to NFC tags, and back up your data to the cloud. The service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

Card scanning accuracy. The business card scanner uses on-device text recognition (OCR), which is inherently imperfect. Printed cards vary widely in fonts, styling, spacing, layout, colours, finishes, and print quality, and some details may be misread, split across the wrong fields, or missed entirely. Extracted details are presented as editable suggestions, not verified data — always review and correct the fields before saving or relying on a scanned contact. We are not responsible for inaccuracies in recognised text or for consequences of using unverified scan results.

3. Your Data

You own your data. We store it only to provide the service. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time from Settings › Delete Account, including your profile, scanned contacts, card images, smart labels and dynamic QRs. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription — cancel it in your store account settings.

4. Acceptable Use & Your Content

Do not use CardIntro for spam, harassment, or any unlawful purpose. Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or redistribute the app. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

You are responsible for the content you publish through CardIntro — your card details, smart label contents and photos, and the destination links of your dynamic QRs. Dynamic QRs must not point to illegal content, malware, phishing, or deceptive destinations. We may deactivate any code or account used abusively, without prior notice.

CardIntro network (event rooms, Discover, card swap requests). There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not post or send anything offensive, sexual, hateful, threatening, harassing, misleading or spam — in your card, headline, photos or swap-request notes — and do not impersonate anyone. You can report or block any member from their profile. We review reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these rules, and remove members who post it from the network or from CardIntro entirely. CardIntro Verified and confirmed-email badges show only what was checked; they are not an endorsement of a member.

5. Scanned Information, Accuracy & What You Share

CardIntro reads business cards with automatic text recognition. Recognition is not perfect: stylized fonts, logos, glare, low light, handwriting or small print can cause details to be missed, misread or placed in the wrong field. CardIntro does not guarantee that information read from a card, QR code or NFC tag is complete or accurate.

You are responsible for reviewing every detail CardIntro fills in before you save, import or share it, and for correcting anything that is wrong. This applies to your own card and to contacts you add.

You are solely responsible for the information you save, publish and share through CardIntro, including your card details, contacts you store, links you encode in QR codes or NFC tags, and anything you send to others. Only add another person’s contact details if you have a lawful basis to keep them, and respect their wishes if they ask you to delete them. CardIntro is not responsible for decisions made, messages sent or harm arising from inaccurate, incomplete or unauthorized information that you save or share.

When you connect an integration (webhook, HubSpot, Salesforce) or export a CSV, you choose to send your contacts’ details to that destination, and you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so and for how that service uses them. Third-party services are governed by their own terms. Deliveries are made on a best-effort basis with retries; CardIntro does not guarantee that every lead reaches a destination that is unavailable, misconfigured or rejects it. Webhook and CSV export are included in the trial, Pro and Business plans; HubSpot and Salesforce sync in Business.

6. Subscription Plans & Pricing

CardIntro is a subscription service. Every new account starts with a 7-day free trial (see section 7); after that a Pro or Business subscription is required to keep using it. There is no free tier.

  • Free trial (7 days) — Pro features with trial allowances: 100 QR scans, up to 100 stored contacts, 25 smart labels (5 photos each), and 5 dynamic QRs.
  • Pro — 1,000 QR scans per month, up to 100 stored contacts, 100 smart labels (5 photos each), 25 dynamic QRs, custom logo & photo on your card and QR code, save & share your QR image, and scanned card import (front & back).
  • Business — 5,000 QR scans per month, up to 500 stored contacts, 500 smart labels, 200 dynamic QRs, everything in Pro, priority support, and early access to new features.

Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly through the App Store or Google Play. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Prices may vary by region. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.

Purchase verification. Each purchase is verified with Apple or Google and attached to the CardIntro account that is signed in when you buy or restore it. A subscription unlocks one CardIntro account at a time: restoring it while signed in to a different account moves it to that account. If a subscription lapses (cancelled, expired or unpaid after the store’s billing-retry period) or is refunded, your account returns to read-only as described in section 7. A refunded scan pack’s unused scans are removed.

Scan packs. A one-time scan pack adds 1,000 bonus scans to your account. Bonus scans are credited once per purchase and are not restored by “Restore Purchases”; they stay on your account across devices.

Scan allowances. A “scan” is any view of your card page, whether reached by QR code or NFC tap. Paid-tier allowances reset each calendar month; the trial allowance is one-time. When your card allowance is exhausted, visitors see a limit notice instead of your card until the allowance resets, you upgrade, or you use purchased bonus scans. To protect your allowance, repeat visits are not counted: the same visitor opening your card again within 10 minutes, or more than 3 times in a day, is shown the card without using a scan. Purchased bonus scans never expire and are consumed only after the plan allowance runs out. Smart label and dynamic QR scans are currently recorded for analytics but not blocked at the allowance; this may change with notice.

Photo retention. Smart label photos are retained for a maximum of one year from upload, on all tiers, after which they are deleted automatically.

Personal and internal business use; no resale. Subscriptions license the service for your own use or the internal use of the business that holds the account. Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, you may not:

  • sell, rent, or otherwise commercially transfer QR codes, smart labels, dynamic QRs, NFC tags or cards programmed with codes from your account, or access to them, to third parties;
  • operate your account as a service bureau — creating or managing codes on behalf of paying clients as a product you charge for;
  • resell, sublicense, or share your plan’s allowances (scans, labels, dynamic QRs, contacts) across multiple businesses or end customers.

Codes remain bound to the account that created them: if that account is downgraded, cancelled, or suspended, its codes stop resolving — including any that were given or sold to someone else. Anyone who received such a code has no claim against CardIntro; their relationship is with the account holder who supplied it. We may throttle, deactivate codes from, or suspend accounts that show resale or service-bureau patterns. If you want to manage codes for clients, operate a reseller or agency arrangement, or bundle CardIntro codes with hardware you sell, contact support@getdcard.com for a commercial agreement — we do offer them.

Changes to pricing and allowances. Subscription prices and plan allowances — including scan and contact limits — may change at any time. We will provide prior notice of any such change through the app or via email before it takes effect. Changes to a subscription price apply from your next billing period, and you may cancel before renewal if you do not accept the new price.

Teams. A team is created and paid for by a Business account (the owner), with a seat limit on active members (10 unless agreed otherwise). Members get Business features while they are active members and the owner’s Business plan is current. The owner and admins manage the team’s brand on members’ cards, can see members’ card stats, and own the leads members capture as team members (including after a member leaves). The team owner is responsible for having the right to see and use those leads and for telling members how they are used.

7. Free Trial

New accounts receive a 7-day free trial granting access to Pro features. One trial is available per person. If you do not subscribe before the trial ends, the app becomes read-only: you can view your card, but editing, sharing, scanning and other features are unavailable, and your card page, NFC links, smart labels and dynamic QR codes stop resolving for visitors. The same applies when a paid subscription ends without renewal. Your data is kept and everything resumes as soon as you subscribe. You can still restore purchases, sign in, and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account and signing up again does not start a new trial.

8. Printed Codes & Service Availability

Smart labels and dynamic QRs resolve through our servers. A printed code works only while the underlying label or QR exists in your account, is active, and the service is operating. Deleting a label or dynamic QR permanently stops its printed copies from working. We are not responsible for reprinting costs or losses arising from deleted or deactivated codes, plan changes, or service interruptions.

9. Camera & Device Permissions

CardIntro uses the camera to scan business cards and QR codes, NFC to read and write tags, photo library access to save your QR code and pick images, and contacts access only to save scanned contacts to your device address book. CardIntro does not use your location. These permissions are optional and can be managed in your device settings.

10. Intellectual Property

CardIntro and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by CardIntro and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any personal data and images you provide.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CardIntro is not liable for data loss, service interruptions, or any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the app, including damages arising from information that was misread during scanning or that you saved or shared without reviewing it (see section 5). We recommend maintaining local backups in addition to cloud sync.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time for violation of these terms. You may stop using the service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any changes. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email.
